Hot Hair for the Holidays

It’s that time of year where schedules get packed with holiday parties and, whether it’s a work function or something social with family and friends, we all want to look our best. A new outfit, new shoes and maybe a new bold color for lipstick are great but what do you do with your hair?! Now is the perfect time to debut a new winter look whether that’s a new formal updo, cut, color, or a texturing service. So, let’s talk about some of the hottest styles for the 2019 holiday season.
Braids are hot this season if your hair is long enough (or you want to explore hair extensions). Thick chunky braids are being seen all over. This can be a braid that includes all of your hair or even a braid over relaxed waves. Maybe you prefer braids that meet into what is meant to look like a messy bun or one that leads into a ponytail. The options are endless so think creatively about what you might like for your own hair.
Half up, half down is another popular style being seen. Think pulling the front part of your hair into a ponytail while the back remains down with ends curled for a polished look. You can even use decorative hair clips and ties to give some added bling and dress it up.
Low buns are always a classic style women turn to and they’re a popular choice for special occasions. They can be formal and sleek or looser and more relaxed; fit them to your event. This style is also great for incorporating a decorative hairpin or clip for some added pizzaz!
Ponytails are great if you have a casual party to attend and they’re so versatile. They can be messy, sleek, low or high. And you can even use them as a fancier style by doing a high ponytail with the ends curled in and a non-flaking gel to help give it a sleek look.
Twists are great if you have wavy hair and can be incorporated in many ways. There are knots, braids and various types of twists that can give your hair a fancier look for any event.
Short hair is not left out, so don’t fear! Unless your hair is really short, many of these styles can be done with bob-style haircuts as well. Twists, knots and large curls work really well with shorter hair so don’t think you don’t have options.
